We hadn't had the boat out this year until last week, but it seems like summer just arrived.
The skies looked as if yet another storm could be upon us. Despite the look, I was grateful my son-in-law was willing to go for a quick jaunt to make sure the boat runs before family arrives for the holidays.

For days now I have been thinking about how I was treated. Disregard and discontentment thrown in my face.
I really believe in shopping at home. I have always been able to get most of my needs met here, whether it was already on the shelves or I had it special ordered. Of course, clothes I cannot get.
Keeping our town businesses going is important, but this was the second time I was treated this way by this business in as many weeks, and by the same person, to boot.

Trinity Lutheran Church–Grant
On July 4, 1884, the people of France presented to the Minister of the United States of America in Paris, the "Liberty Enlightening the World", or as we know it, the "Statue of Liberty."
This gift was a birthday present to our nation which was to: 1) symbolize the friendship between France and the United States of America, and 2) symbolize the liberty citizens enjoyed under a free form of government.
