Test your problem-solving skills and help out the Perkins County Animal Shelter with this year’s fund raiser: “The Crazy Cat Lady Escape Room,” located on the Perkins County Veterinary Hospital  grounds, 68 S. Central in Grant.

Staff is hosting the escape room every Tuesday for as long as there is interest but definitely the next three Tuesdays, said Shannon Jensen, veterinarian.

Three separate times are offered: 6 p.m., 7 p.m. and 8 p.m. Each group gets 45 minutes to complete the puzzle. Snacks and drinks are provided.

An escape room is a puzzle room where participants solve math and word puzzles to open locks to new clues. In this scenario, the participants are finding the food and medicine to treat a diabetic cat after its elderly owner is urgently rushed out of her apartment to the hospital.

Groups are limited to five due to the size of the room, with a per-person fee.

“The funds go to help support the expense of getting stray dogs ready to adopt and cover any food or care they need for a possibly extended period of time,” said Jensen. “Since we are a low-kill shelter, some dogs stay for months while we try to match them with the right home.”

Those wanting to participate should contact the veterinary clinic at 308-352-2630.
