The Madrid facility has outlived its usefulness having been built in 1921. However, the Grant high school that was built in 1918 is still very usable and necessary. It goes to show you if you keep up an old building it will stay usable.
We were told that the actual figures for the new gym and classrooms would be put in the paper. The school board kept its word and put the 7.5 million dollar figure in the paper as they were breaking ground. We were told it would cost between 5 and 6 million.
We the taxpayers weren’t allowed to vote on these figures. Where will this albatross end—8, 9 or 10 million? This project reminds me of Obamacare.
