Two varsity starters return for volleyball at Perkins County this season.
Courtney Ostermiller and Lila Konecky, both outside hitters, will help anchor the Lady Plainsmen this fall.
Ostermiller was an all-state honorable mention last season with 36 blocks and 122 kills while Konecky is what head coach Penny Hite said is ‘a consistent server, reliable and a go-to girl this summer.’
Other letter winners from last season returning this year include Claire Maaliao, Kaitlynn Heinemann, Kimberly Anderson and Josie Osler.
Last season the Lady Plainsmen were 3-23 and Hite is excited about the upcoming season.
“There has been a lot of growth in our young girls and they have proved themselves this summer in the weight room and off-season work,” Hite said. “With only two seniors to lead the way, they have looked to the underclassmen to step up and are expecting great things from them.”
The season starts Sept. 4 at home against North Platte St. Patrick’s, a team Hite said will be a team to keep an eye on this season, along with Kimball and Chase County.
