Girls golf squad featuring new faces
By Tim Linscott, Managing Editor
Five female golfers will take to the course for Perkins County this season.
The squad will be made up of players with little to no experience as there are no returning letter winners and includes first-year coach Michelle Buchanan.
Buchanan noted that even with a lack of overall experience, the squad has a positive attitude and full of a willingness to learn.
“The outlook for the season is to improve individual scores with each invitation,” Buchanan said. “If we do that, we will improve as a team.”
No seniors are on the squad, but Buchanan said junior Amanda Reichert has been a positive influence on younger golfers.
Buchanan is looking forward to every golf invite this season and watching the team progress.
“We have a very young team, so we are looking forward to growth at each and every invitational,” Buchanan said.
The team will play a variety of courses this season with the season opener on Aug. 28 at Bayard.
