|Wallace fccla students receive national awards|
Forty-six Nebraska students recently received Family, Career and Community Leaders of America (FCCLA) awards during national competition in Nashville.
About 100 Nebraska students were among the nearly 6,000 students who attended the 2009 National Leadership meeting.
Wallace Public School FCCLA students who received a gold medal in parliamentary procedure, senior level are: John Paul Lempke, Shanice Harris, Casey Lundvall, Curtis Olson, Ryan Sowle, Josi Hasenauer and Lane Swedberg.
During the school year, FCCLA members tackle issues such as teen violence prevention, traffic safety, family issues, career exploration and more.
FCCLA programs enrich student learning, improve self-esteem and serve students with a range of ability levels, economic situations and cultural influences.
Family, Career and Community Leaders of America is unique among student organizations in that members plan and run its programs.
FCCLA is the only career and technical in-school student organization with a central focus on the family.
