|Hoping for a small victory for taxpayers|
Let’s hope Congress moves quickly to fix a tax-related issue that President Obama’s administration just highlighted.
Are employees aware that if they have a company provided cell phone for business use they must manually log and pay taxes on the “personal calls” they use with that same phone?
After announcing ways they would force greater compliance with the 20-year-old law, the administration quickly changed their tune and asked Congress to repeal the law instead. But, the law remains.
While Congress works on the expensive, complicated and divisive issues, they shouldn’t forget this easy and obvious repeal. Even a small victory for taxpayers would be nice.Sincerely, Merrilee Faubel, Omaha
