MPCC offers online employment service PDF Print E-mail

Students and alumni of Mid-Plains Community College may now access a free service designed to enhance employment opportunities for them and to allow employers to post current job openings aimed directly at the students/alumni.
MPCC Career Services, in partnership with College Central Network, recently added this online management system to their array of services. College Central Network’s student, alumni, and employer portals are available on the MPCC college website at the “CampusWeb” site, “employment opportunities” tab or at
“This program allows employers to post directly to the job board and make changes and additions as needed,” said Berva Arensdorf, MPCC Career Services specialist. “It allows students to search the local jobs employers post as well as giving them access to a national database. Students can upload resumes and send them to employers after a critique by the career services staff. MPCC alumni may participate free with this service, either as an employer or as a job-seeker.”
MPCC Dean of Career Services, Bill Eakins, urges employers to post job openings, especially those with flexible scheduling that might complement student schedules, in addition to full-time job openings.
“The success of this system will be good interaction between employers, students, and former students as each uses the system to fill their current employment-related needs. With this online system, MPCC Career Services is open for business to serve students every hour of the day,” he said.
“MPCC Career Services is pleased to offer this new service in addition to the ongoing partnership with Nebraska Workforce Development’s North Platte Career Center,” he added. “Workforce development’s JobLink website is an additional source of information about statewide job openings. Staff from both entities is available for resume assistance, job search tips, and assistance to job seekers.”
