Cooley wins People’s Choice in photography PDF Print E-mail

Becky Cooley of Grant entered 11 photographs at the state fair in Lincoln and received several honors including People’s Choice Best of Show. Following are the results:
Honorable Mention: color prints, “Other Animals,” “Jumper;” color prints, candid preschool children, “Catch Me Nana.”
Black and white, flowers, “Lily White.” Second place ribbons: photography special photojournalism, “Farmers Suffer Losses.”
Photography anything goes, “Slide.”
Best of Lot People’s Choice—”Time Forgotten;” Best of Show People’s Choice, “Time Forgotten.”
The State Fair receives over 2500 pictures from across the state each year. There are only three ribbon placings in each category and then honorable mention. Unlike county fairs, not all pictures receive a ribbon.
People attending the state fair are allowed to vote for their favorite picture in each category, and on the final day, People’s Choice awards are presented.
