By Shari Friedel Tribune Staff Although conditions were optimal for golf with little wind and perfect temperatures, the difficult Kimball course gave the Perkins County golfers a challenge on Thursday, Sept. 17 at the Kimball Invitational. Perkins County finished third, having enough golfers for a team score of 460. They were behind Mitchell in second with 444 points and Kimball, first place with 443. Junior Emily Kiolbasa participated in her first meet of the season, after recovering from illness that kept her off the course for a few weeks. Reading the greens at the Kimball course proved difficult for the ladies, who are used to their home course. “We need to be more disciplined to slow down and study our shots around the green every hole,” commented Coach Troy Kemling.
