“There’s no place like a small town when it come to caring and giving” was the sentiment on Saturday, Sept. 13, during the Palser family benefit.
The benefit was organized and hosted by the Elsie Fire Department. The firemen served barbecue pork sandwiches before the auction began.
Steve Hanson played the role of auctioneer. A wide variety of donations were auctioned, including pies from the Elsie United Methodist Women and the Elsie Altar Society.
Following the auction, the drawing for the raffles began with Mark Olson as the emcee.
Troy Palser spoke to the crowd and thanked everybody for what they had done. He, too, agreed that Elsie was a small town with a big heart.
