Women’s Resource Center to hold banquet PDF Print E-mail

Featured speaker at the Ogallala Women’s Resource Center’s “Uniting for Life” banquet is Yvonne Williams, consultant for Care Net, the largest network of pregnancy centers in North America. The banquet is scheduled for Monday, Nov.  9, 6 p.m. at the Keith County Senior Center in Ogallala.
After graduating from college, Williams was preparing to teach high school. Instead, she started a pregnancy center in Boulder, Colo., where she served as the executive director for 25 years.
She has had the opportunity to work for states in the defense of parental notification, design legislation to help pregnancy centers and often serves as an expert witness in pro-life cases.
Williams worked with the International Bible Society designing the Hope Bible often used in pregnancy centers, and performed background work with Focus On The Family, Family Resource Council and other pro-life groups. She has a passion to help communities help women and their babies. She currently serves as a consultant for Care Net and works with pregnancy centers, training and speaking.
The banquet begins with a silent auction and is followed by dinner and the program. Reservations are necessary and can be made by calling 308-284-3700.
The Ogallala Women’s Resource Center is funded through donations and is in its seventh year of providing services to women facing unplanned pregnancies and seeking help providing for their babies, and those wishing to learn positive parenting techniques. It also provides peer mentoring for those struggling after an abortion or miscarriage. All services are free and confidential.
