December festivities are underway across the county with the flip of the calendar on Tuesday.

Venango will be hosting a Christmas event on Saturday, Dec. 12, sponsored by the Lions Club.

The public is invited to join the parade kicking off the holiday celebration at 4:30 p.m. by either being a participant or a spectator. 

Santa will come into town following the parade and will distribute  candy to the kids at the American Legion Hall. 

A soup supper will follow from 5-7 p.m. hosted by the Lions members with a free will offering. 

Entertainment begins at 6 p.m. when the Cowboy Capital Chorus will perform Christmas songs for all to enjoy. 

Mark the second Saturday in December as a time to enjoy some holiday spirit in Venango.
