Still in the same location—but with brand new walls—Daiss Real Estate and Countryside Insurance reside on ground formerly occupied by what most called “the little red barn.”

The new 1600 square foot building holds office space for Ryan Cornelius, Bryan Sestak and Charlottie Wallin along with a meeting room, kitchenette, storage, and room for more offices.

Construction got underway in June, taking approximately four months to complete. Darin Tjaden of Architectural Design served as general contractor.

In a good location with accommodating space for clients, Daiss Real Estate and Countryside Insurance are proud to be part of the new landscape on the northern edge of town, joining a recent hospital addition, along with a new Farm Service Agency constructed a few years ago.

Cornelius is a Perkins County native who is proud of the investment businesses have put into retaining a viable community, mentioning others such as Hatch’s Super Foods, HomeTown Agency, In and Out, and the Plainsman Inn.

“I hope others with businesses invest in Grant,” he said.

About the Agents

Daiss Real Estate:  As a broker of Daiss Real Estate, Ryan Cornelius also sells crop insurance with Countryside Insurance. He and his wife, Carol, have two children, Trevor, four, and two-year-old Emily.

Joining Cornelius in sales for Daiss Real Estate is Charlottie Wallin. She is married to Dan Wallin and is the mother of three grown sons, Dirk, Dean and Dain, and grandmother of five.

•  Countryside Insurance:  Bryan Sestak handles all areas of insurance, with his main focus on crop insurance along with Cornelius.

Sestak said he appreciates those who have been supportive in their new business venture.

“I am very happy that with this support we are able to give back to the area and put up a nice addition to Grant,” said Sestak.

Sestak and his wife, Julie, have three sons, Matt, 13, Mitchell, 11, and Evan, eight.

An open house for the new Daiss Real Estate/Countryside building on Nov. 19 was well attended.

Perhaps the most interested visitor at the open house was Dale Kemling of Park Ridge Assisted Living who watched the entire project from the ground up.

From his vantage point across the street, he spent hours watching the construction. He was taken to the site during the early stages of construction when nurse aide Brenda Yancey maneuvered his wheelchair through soft dirt and over ruts.

At the open house, Kemling got a first class tour of the new office building he was so interested in watching go up.

Daiss Real Estate and Countryside Insurance are located at 945 Central.
