|Seger inducted as Lions governor|
Larry Seger, Wallace, has been inducted into the office of District Governor 38-L Lions.
The State of Nebraska Lions of Multiple District 38 is comprised of four districts.
The other governors are: 38-I Charles Devine, Oconto, 38-0 Dee Micheal, Bennington, and 38-N Jim Reissig, Omaha. Pat Smith, Kearney, is the council chairperson.
District 38-L is comprised of 42 clubs, 1,000 members, and covers approximately the western third of Nebraska.
The International Association of Lions Clubs is in 205 countries, has more than 1.3 million members, and is the largest service organization in the world.
Helping others enjoy healthier and more productive lives has been a goal of Lions since 1917, said Seger.
It began as an idea, a feeling that if individuals devoted a portion of their time and energy to community service they could be a positive force for building not only their own communities, but also the world community.
“The main focus of Lionism is toward sight, hearing, and diabetes related problems, but is not limited to just these,” said Seger. “The Lions are there to serve and provide assistance to their communities and world whenever a need arises.”
