Plainsmen wrestling season began to wind down with Class D-4 district competition held Friday and Saturday, Feb. 12-13 at Sutherland High School.

Perkins County was one of 18 teams vying for positions at the state level. They finished 12th with a score of 39.

Sole state contender for Perkins County is junior Kyle Schulze at 130 lbs. who took first place in his weight class at districts. He will represent the Plainsmen this weekend at the Qwest Center in Omaha when state competition begins today (Thursday).

Schulze enters the state competition with a 20-7 record for the year.
