Disability summit offers opportunities for families and guardians PDF Print E-mail

Families, guardians, advocates and friends of individuals with developmental disabilities can attend sessions planned specifically for them at the March 25-27 Developmental Disabilities Summit.

Sessions for families, guardians, friends and advocates will be offered in two locations: 

Lincoln, Cornhusker Hotel:  March 25 in the afternoon and evening; and March 27 in the morning.   

Kearney, Ramada Inn:  March 26 in the afternoon and evening. 

Presentations will provide information on Special Needs Trusts and Advance Directives (March 25th in Lincoln only) and alternatives to guardianship (creating a person-centered plan and self-determination opportunities for people with disabilities without the need for court intervention, or creation of guardianships or conservatorships). 

The DD Summit will also offer sessions directed toward direct support staff, physicians, nurses and psychologists, and management.
