Coaches selected for West Nebraska All-Star VB Game PDF Print E-mail

The volleyball coaches have been chosen to lead the West and East teams for the 26th annual West Nebraska All-Star Volleyball Game.

This year’s game will be played Saturday, June 5 in Scottsbluff at Cougar Palace on the campus of Western Nebraska Community College. Game time is 2 p.m. MDT.

Jackie Rahmig from Bridgeport High School will be the head coach for the West. This past season, Rahmig led her team to a 24-4 record. Bridgeport was the C2-12 district champion and make it to the State Volleyball Tournament where they lost to David City Aquinas in the first round.

This is Coach Rahmig’s first time as a coach in the All-Star game.

Janet Oktken from Crawford High School has been chosen as the assistant coach for the West squad for this year’s game.

Leading the East volleyball team is Alan Miller from Stapleton/McPherson County High School. This past season Miller led Stapleton/McPherson County to a record regular season record of 16-11. The team lost to Maxwell in the semi-finals of the D-11 districts.

This is Coach Miller’s first appearance as a coach in the West Nebraska All-Star Volleyball Game.

Belinda Coble from Mullen High School will serve as the assistant coach for the East squad.

A portion of the proceeds from the West Nebraska All-Star Volleyball Game benefits the Scotts Bluff County Volunteer Center.
