|New course superintendent began duties March 1|

Hopeful that the weather will improve and hold, Zane Vapenik, new superintendent at the Grant Golf Course, officially began his duties on March 1, and will perform all of the course operations.
Vapenik is an Elsie native and a 1999 Wheatland High School graduate. He furthered his education at Chadron State College where he graduated in 2004.
Vapenik teaches industrial technology at Garden County High School.
“Anything outdoors” is his favorite hobby or interest. “Hopefully summer will bring many beautiful days for golfers to enjoy the course,” he said.
