New digital mammography machine in use at hospital PDF Print E-mail

Over 50 mammograms have been performed since the arrival of the new digital machine at Perkins County Health Services on March 10. Radiologic Technologist Cindy Dahlkoetter looks at the screen of the new system which provides the latest technological advances available to ensure the best image quality in the industry. The machine is the first of its kind in the area. Patient comfort is a high priority. The new machine has tilting paddles that conform to the natural contours of the breast for uniform and comfortable compression. Images are more clear, a better job is done in the case of dense tissue, images are read immediately, images of previous tests can be viewed simultaneously and comparisons made.
