|Tribune captures three awards at Kearney convention|

The Grant Tribune-Sentinel was recognized in three categories at the Nebraska Press Association/Nebraska Press Advertising Service convention over the weekend.
The Tribune was the recipient of first place in the small ad category for a 50th anniversary ad created by Shari Friedel; second place for layout of the classified section; and third place for configuration and content of the lifestyle section.
Award certificates were presented at the 136th annual gathering of the press in Kearney April 16-17 at the Holiday Inn Hotel and Convention Center.
Nearly 200 individuals attended the event for workshops, award presentations, exhibitors and election of officers.
The Imperial Republican and The Wauneta Breeze reaped 15 awards and 34 awards respectively. The Breeze also won the Sweepstakes Award, as well as and the Community Service Award for their class. The Republican took second in their class in the Weekly Sweepstakes and also received the Harpst Leadership Nebraska award.
Founded in 1873, the Nebraska Press Association membership includes 177 weekly and daily newspapers with a total paid circulation exceeding 635,000.
