|City in early stage of replacing sirens|
By Jan Rahn
Siren testing was among announcements made by City Manager Tyson McGreer during the regular meeting of the Grant City Council Tuesday, April 13.
In preparing to replace the city’s sirens, a company was in Grant on Tuesday of this week to see what the requirements are.
A siren representative tested sirens atop a boom on a truck at both Grant City Park and the Perkins County Courthouse, the sites where the new ones will possibly be erected.
The project has been in the works with Sheriff Jim Brueggeman, Grant Fire Captain Harlan Rahn, and Grant’s City Manager Tyson McGreer making decisions on how, when and where to replace the sirens which are old and undependable.
