|Grant native in top one percent in Boston Marathon division|
By Jan Rahn
With her family amongst a throng of supporters, Lauren Klima crossed the finish line of the Boston Marathon a couple minutes faster than the qualifying time it took to get there.
She ran fast enough to put her in the top 1 percent of finishers in the female division, placing 98th out of 11,363 in the internationally known race held Monday, April 19.
Klima, a Grant native who now lives in Omaha and works at Great Plains Communications, qualified for the Boston at the end of September when she ran her third full marathon in Omaha—winning the women’s division with 3:04:19.
