|Wheat nearing boot stage despite uncooperative spring weather|
Wheat growth is progressing across the state, but excess winds throughout last week and cool temperatures have producers concerned in some areas of the state.
According to the USDA, temperatures averaged four degrees below normal last week with below freezing temperatures recorded in parts of the western half of the state. Highs ranged from the low 70s to upper 80s. Precipitation fell throughout the state with heaviest accumulation of over 1.5 inches in the southeast district.
