|Meyer selected as May Senior of the Month|
Amara Meyer has recently been selected as the Beta Sigma Phi May “Senior of the Month.”
Meyer, a 2010 graduate of Perkins County High School, is the daughter of Ryal Meyer and Christine Meyer.
During her high school career, Meyer was a member of FFA, mock trial, speech, quiz bowl, Natonal Honor Society and student council.
She was also a participant in musicals and spring plays
She participated in band, including concert and marching band.
Meyer was an FCCLA member, and was named to the honor roll.
She was active in the community as well as the school through Perkins County Youth Council activities and was a youth election volunteer.
She designed and created a sign for a business, participated in food pantry collection and cleaned up educational island in Washington, D.C. through FFA.
She has been employed at the family farm the past four summers and at a daycare.
Meyer plans to attend a private college and major in secondary education.
She was recently selected to attend Girl’s Nation in Washington, D.C., where she had the opportunity to meet several political figures.
For being selected Senior of the Month, Meyer’s picture will hang in the lobby of Pinnacle Bank in Grant and she was also eligible for a scholarship awarded at the end of the school year.
The Student of the Month and scholarship program are sponsored jointly by Beta Sigma Phi Sorority and Pinnacle Bank in Grant.
