Kuskie sisters take part in Rotary Youth Exchange Program PDF Print E-mail

The Grant Rotary Club is extremely proud to announce there have been two students selected from PCHS to participate in the International Rotary Youth Exchange Program for 2010-2011.

It is unusual for two students, same gender and from the same family to be selected.  However, due to the depth of character, academic excellence, school and community involvement, Jeannie and Janet Kuskie, daughters of Larry and Norma Jean Kuskie of Grant, will be local, state and national ambassadors as a part of the Rotary Youth Exchange Program.

Janet has been selected to spend next year in Finland and Jeannie will be going France.  Both girls will be attending high school while in their respective country and living with Rotary connected families.  Both girls have been working very hard to attain funds in order to participate in this program.

The local Rotary Club pitched in to help them through a fundraiser last week through the concessions at the district track meet.

Having two students in the same family being selected makes all funds divided in half.  Residents of Perkins County, supporters, civic clubs and organizations who would like to help them are invited to do so. Please make checks out to: Grant Rotary Youth Exchange and send to: C.J. Rezac, Pres., Grant Rotary Club, P.O. Box 606, Grant, NE 69140.

Any student interested in participating in the Rotary Youth Exchange Program is encouraged to contact a Rotary member.  Application processes take time and the earlier the indication of interest is known, the better.
