|Grant takes part in community cleanup|
Residents in Grant are urged to voluntarily clean up their properties. City officials have provided a roll off dumpster for disposing of non-hazardous discarded goods located at the grass clipping collection site west of the ballfield.
The dumpster will be on site until June 14. White goods and metal may be taken to a site located at First and Hancock Streets (up on the hill).
West Central Nebraska Development District (WCNDD) is the designated nuisance officer for this project. WCNDD will be conducting an independent assessment in the community to identify properties that require clean-up.
Items that will be looked at include unlicensed vehicles, auto parts, white goods, dead trees, trash and refuse.
Karl Elmshaeuser, Executive Director of WCNDD, advises residents that, “We are prepared to tow unlicensed vehicles, cut down dead trees, and board up unsafe buildings.”
Residents wanting a copy of the nuisance ordinance may pick up a copy at the city hall.
City officials advise that the roll off dumpster is available for Grant residents only.
