A new event throughout the season is being added to enjoyment at the Grant City Pool, which will open on Monday, May 31.

A “Family Swim Night” will be held on Wednesdays from 6-7:30 p.m. for families who wish to spend quality time together during part of the evening.

Lifeguards and instructors were busy training Monday, and even though the weather is not cooperating yet, it’s expected next Monday will create  a smooth opening day.

Managing the pool again this year is Brittany Pofahl.

Lifeguards signed on include Elisa Carlson, Kristin Beck, Shalee Pollard, Christian Miyamoto, Austin Gaston, Taylor Boldt, Brody Prante and Derek Brueggeman.

Lined up for subbing are Rachel Patrick, Jessie Woodmancy, Elliot Carlson and Cole Whalen.

Regular hours will be from 1-6 p.m. on Monday through Friday and from 1-5 p.m. on Saturdays and Sundays.
