|A day to remember...|
By Jan Rahn
Gatherings across the nation on Memorial Day honored the war dead with speeches, gun salutes and prayer.
Such was the case along the Highline as the public gathered in Venango, Grant, Madrid, Elsie and Wallace to pay tribute to those who gave their lives for our nation’s freedom.
Flags whipped in the strong breeze Monday, May 31, during programs held at each of the cemeteries, some followed by refreshments or lunch, all ending with gun salute in memory of why the masses gather.
