Hundreds sickened by swine flu in Nebraska during ‘09 season PDF Print E-mail

LINCOLN (AP) — More than a dozen deaths and 536 illnesses in Nebraska during the 2009 flu season were attributed to swine flu, according to a state report released late May.

Swine flu, also know as H1N1, raised fears of a global pandemic when it emerged last year.

In Nebraska, 13 people died between Aug. 30 and May 1, which is considered flu season, according to a report from the state Department of Health and Human Services.
