|2010 wheat harvest closing in|
The wheat has changed color across the state and harvest has begun.
According to the USDA’s June 28 report, all areas of the state received rain. The eastern third of the state and South Central District received over two and one quarter inches of precipitation.
The driest area was the Panhandle with only one quarter inch of moisture.
Temperatures for the week averaged one degree above normal with highs in the upper 90s and lows in the low 50s.
Wheat conditions rated 2 percent very poor, 6 percent poor, 21 percent fair, 62 percent good and 9 percent excellent, near the 73 percent good or excellent of last year.
