|Airport event a huge success|
All the people who attended the events at the Grant Municipal Airport on Sunday, June 27, made the day a huge success. Dozens of people and organizations worked so hard to make it a memorable day.
Thirty young people experienced a Young Eagle flight. Their names will be entered into the world’s largest logbook in Oshkosh, Wisc. Five Experimental Aircraft Association members gave these flights from Grant, North Platte, Venango, Holyoke and Casper.
The highlight of the event was “The Avi8ors” celebration of the American spirit, a 1940s style USO show. For anyone who remembers World War II many memories were brought to mind, whether they were in the military service, a family member or a loved one of a person in the service, or one who supported the war on the home front.
“The Avi8ors” were spectacular. We have had so many positive comments from area people. We were pleased to have been instrumental in bringing “The Avi8ors” to Grant. It was so gratifying that the hangar was full. It is estimated that close to 500 people attended the day’s program.
We appreciate all who helped with the program from beginning to end.
