|Prairie Nutrition to produce feed in former bean plant|
By Jan Rahn
A long-abandoned building is coming to life east of Grant.
As a new business to the area, Prairie Nutrition will operate from the former Jack’s Bean plant. Production will include animal feed products using distiller grains from local ethanol plants.
The products from the Nevada-based company will include high inclusion distiller grain pellets and range cubes that will have protein levels in the high 20 percentile.
Patents are pending on the two machines designed for processing.
Because the plant will be under construction and will become an industrial environment, visitors are discouraged from entering the vicinity for the time being.
