|Top prizes given at Madrid Day|
Winners and their categories in the parade or in the vehicle shows at Madrid Day include:
Kent Hilferty was awarded top prize and received a plaque for his 1925 John Deere in the tractor show. Wayne Burge (right) took first place for his 1953 John Deere 40 pulling a wagon built by Glen Burge who passed away over 30 years ago. Helping Burge celebrate after the parade is Dave Peterson. Short Stop donated a $10 gift certificate. Glen Yoder of Imperial received a plaque for first place in the car show with his 1935 Chevy. Second place in the car show went to Jerry Fenwick (not pictured) with his 1967 Ford Mustang. Greg Sis won first place in the motorcycle show, receiving a plaque for his entry. Second place went to Gary Baumgartner and Dillon Koop (not pictured). Carlos Hickey and sons took first place for their “going to school on horseback” entry in the parade that had a theme of Childhood Memories. Charger Auction donated the $20 prize for their entry.
