Nebraska AIDS project sponsors statewide AIDS walk Sunday PDF Print E-mail

Nebraska AIDS Project (NAP) will sponsor the annual AIDS Walk “6 Cities, One Walk, One Purpose” on Sunday, Sept. 12 in Kearney and Hastings this year. The walk will be hosted at both locations simultaneously.

Hastings will host their walk at the Hazelrigg Student Center at Hastings College and Kearney will be hosted on the UNK campus at the Fine Arts building.

Registration will begin in both locations at 12 p.m. Kearney will feature guest speaker Don Messer from the United Methodist Global AIDS Fund and author of the book “52 Ways to Create an AIDS-free World.” The Hastings walk will feature musical entertainment by the group 1-2-5 and a guest speaker talking about his experience with HIV/AIDS.

The annual AIDS Walk is an awareness event that raises much-needed funds for comprehensive programs and services provided by NAP for men, women and children living with HIV and AIDS in central Nebraska, as well as support for ongoing education and outreach programs.

For Kearney Walk information contact Andrew Brackett at 308-338-0527 and for Hastings information Judy Sandeen 402-462-2961.
