|Ogallala Rendezvous set|
The 26th Annual Ogallala Indian Summer Rendezvous is set for Sept. 16-18 under the big tent in downtown Ogallala. Ogallala’s three-day fall festival is full of activities for the whole family. Throughout the entire event, there will be entertainment, food vendors and a refreshment garden.
Featured entertainment for this year’s Rendezvous includes, on Sept. 17, The Rumbles, who will entertain with their classic 60s and 70s music for the show and dance.
On Sept. 18, The Innocence, a rock band based in Kearney, will perform their hits for the show and dance with a diversity of music ranging from Guns N’ Roses to Michael Jackson to Rascal Flatts.
Other featured entertainers include Lexi Moul, Todd Kramer, Levi Powell, Brekkan Martinosky and the Latin Jam band. Jason the Juggler also will showcase his skills.
The event kicks off Thursday, Sept. 16, with the Beef Chili Cook-off, sponsored annually by the Area 14 CattleWomen, followed by the Rendezvous Parade through downtown Ogallala.
The evening will conclude with the Moonlight Madness Shopping Spree where Ogallala merchants offer savings.
Other activities will include a craft show on Friday, Sept. 17, and Saturday, Sept. 18, with more than 50 booths selling homemade and commercial items.
The quilt show, always a highlight of the Rendezvous, will feature more than 100 beautiful quilts. There also will be an art show and sale featured by local artists.
Saturday, Sept. 18 events begin with the Rendezvous breakfast, 5K and 1-Mile Fun Run/Walk and performances by many local entertainers.
The Big Mac Rod Run will feature 75-100 classic cars on display, and a Rendezvous Burnout Competition also is planned.
Many of the activities are free to attend, however, there is an admission charge for some events.
Booster badges can be purchased ($12 for adults and $6 for children).
