Artbeat...Woodcarvers work on display at gallery PDF Print E-mail

Over 200 hand carved items are being featured at Meadowlark Gallery during the month of September.

Local artisans and members of the North Platte and Wauneta carving clubs are the contributors for this month’s show.

Local carver Archie Silvrants will be the host at the gallery, located at 246 Central Ave. in Grant during regular open hours, Friday and Saturday evenings, 6-8 p.m.

The gallery can also be booked for special tours by contacting an arts council member.

Dinner Theater

The Perkins County Area Arts Council is once again planning a dinner theater for the spring of 2011.

Anyone interested in helping with the council’s major fund raising event is invited to attend a special meeting to be held at the gallery at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 9, just prior to the art’s council’s regular monthly meeting.

There are many behind-the-scenes positions that need to be filled.

Facebookers: Keep up with arts council happenings on their new Facebook page.

Check the arts council website at perkinscountycreators.com for past shows and a current gallery schedule.

The gallery is operated by the Perkins County Area Arts Council, which meets the second Thursday of each month, 7 p.m. at the gallery. The meetings are open to the public.
