Public invited to WRC banquet PDF Print E-mail

The 8th Annual Banquet, Uniting for Life–“Choices”, of the Ogallala Women’s Resource Center will be held on Monday, Sept. 20, 5:30 p.m. MT at the Keith County Fairgrounds Exhibit Hall in Ogallala. 

The evening will begin with bidding on Silent Auction items followed by dinner and the program. 

This year’s featured speaker is Pam Stenzel, an international speaker on abstinence ( 

Stenzel travels worldwide talking in person to over 500,000 young people each year (a few days after her presentation in Ogallala she’ll be in South Africa). 

The videos of this dynamic, direct and entertaining speaker are viewed by millions around the world including clients coming to the Ogallala Women’s Resource Center. 

Stenzel was a featured speaker at the United Nations for “The Summit on Children Conference” in June 2001, participated in President Bush’s faith-based and community initiative meeting held at the White House in May 2001, and has been a guest on numerous national TV and radio programs. 

Adults and parents are invited to attend the banquet which is sponsored by businesses and individuals from the area.

On Tuesday, Sept. 21, Pam Stenzel will be speaking to young people (seventh grade and above) from schools in the service area of the Ogallala Women’s Resource Center and challenging them to get the ‘abstinence advantage.’

Stenzel’s visit is being underwritten by area organizations, churches, individuals and businesses.

The Ogallala Women’s Resource Center (an affiliate of Care Net) provides free and confidential services to women and couples experiencing an unplanned pregnancy and those needing temporary assistance in providing the basic needs for their child. 

Services include: diapers,  formula,  baby clothes, blankets,  maternity clothes, educational videos and printed material on pregnancy, child development (before and after birth) and positive parenting techniques, non-graphic information on abortion and its risks, peer support for those struggling after an abortion or miscarriage. 

The center does not perform or refer for abortions or abortifacients.
