|Annual Nebraska Society for Range Management meeting to be held at Halsey in October|
Early registration deadline is Sept. 30
“Integrated Resource Management: Using All The Tools in Your Toolbox” is the theme for the 2010 Nebraska Section Society for Range Management annual meeting that is scheduled to begin on Oct. 13.
The meeting will commence at 1 p.m. CDT at the Nebraska State 4-H Camp in Halsey and will wrap up at noon on Oct. 14.
The first day consists of speakers during the day, followed by a banquet and the entertaining “Crazy Auction” fund-raiser. The second day of this meeting will be composed of a tour of some management practices on the Nebraska National Forest.
Featured speakers include Dr. James Stubbendieck, John Ortmann, Leah Carson, Dr. Byron Sleugh, and Dr. Jerry Volesky. They will give presentations on the history of fire on Nebraska ranches, fire effects, NRCS programs, woody species control options, and Sandhills grazing systems.
The early registration deadline is Sept. 30 or register at the door at the beginning of the meeting.
