With a three-game win in the record books from last week, the Perkins County Lady Plainsmen were ready for this week’s action.

Coming out on top at the Creek Valley invite on Sept. 21, the girls defeated the Lady Storm in two sets and the Sutherland Lady Sailors in two.

Two days later they took down the Haxtun Lady Bulldogs.

The Lady Plainsmen dominated in the first set with serves.

“We hit the holes and made them move,” said Coach Hite.

She said the girls lost focus and began to struggle behind the line, however, Michi Prante and Jessica Day picked up some near impossible balls, saved the play and kept up the momentum.

Perfect serving by Day and Matisyn Humphrey, along with all-around defense and offense by Tanya Metcalf gave the ladies a four-set win.

Creek Valley Triangular

“We actually had one of the best serve/serve receive nights that we’ve had in the last four games,” said Coach Penny Hite after defeating Sutherland 25-22, 25-20.

They handily beat Creek Valley 25-19, 25-6 even though Coach Hite said the girls didn’t play up to their potential in the first set. She said fantastic serving in the second set by Jessica Day, Kristin Beck and Shania Metcalf made the difference in propelling the team to an easy win.
