|Concert and soup supper set for this Sunday|
The public is invited to a concert featuring North Platte quartet, “Four in a Chord” on Sunday, Nov. 7 at 4 p.m. at the Methodist Church in Grant, followed by a soup supper.
“Four in a Chord” is a group of four men who love to sing and praise the Lord. They are all members of the Chancel Choir at First United Methodist Church in North Platte, and have been singing together formally since early 2008.
Singing tenor is Brian Horst, a retired school administrator with the North Platte public school system.
Bass singer is Roger Volentine, a math instructor at North Platte Community College.
Lynn Flaming, formerly of Elsie, sings lead and is involved in agri-business.
Rounding out the group is baritone Rick Nelson, owner and operator of a construction company specializing in artistic construction projects.
Accompanist Mary Lynn Horst is a retired guidance counselor. She plays regularly for several area churches, and serves as one of the accompanists for the Heartland singers and the community playhouse.
The music will feature southern gospel and hymn favorites.
The concert is sponsored by the church’s mission committee. A free will offering will be taken to help support the volunteers going to Mexico in January.
