Wallace Wildcats win in Wauneta PDF Print E-mail

The Wallace Wildcats traveled to face the D1 Broncos of Wauneta-Palisade on Tuesday, Oct. 26. The Lady Cats won the match in straight sets, 25-13, 25-17 and 25-18.

Leading the team offensively against Wauneta-Palisade was Hild with 12 points (one ace), followed closely by Harris with 11 points (one ace), and Gardner (five aces) and O’Brien (one ace) each with nine points. Smith (one ace) had five points, and Kerchal had one point.

Leading the team with set assists was Hild with 18, followed by O’Brien with 10, and Harris, Gardner, Hochstetler, and Hasenauer each with one.

Defensively, Gardner led the team with 13 kills and three blocks, followed closely by Smith with 12 kills and one block. Harris had eight kills, Hochstetler had four kills and three blocks, Hild had two kills, and O’Brien had one kill.

The Lady Cats began their battle for a state bid at Grant on Monday, Nov. 1.

The Lady Cats are set to play the winners of the Hayes Center/Wauneta Palisade match.

The Cats are currently ranked number three in the state for the D2 teams.
