|Day selected as November Senior of the Month|
Jessica Day, a student at Perkins County High School, has been selected as the November Senior of the Month.
Day is the daughter of Steve and Ann Day of rural Madrid.
Throughout high school, Day has been a dedicated student and athlete.
Her high school activities incude FFA, volleyball, basketball, track, band, chorus and drama.
She has held several class offices and has been active in student council.
She has been on the A honor roll throughout high school and was nominated for the Believers and Achievers scholarship.
Outside of school, she has been a 4-H member since the age of nine, raising market beef steers.
As a volunteer, she has been a youth basketball and t-ball coach, has worked at blood drives, served at Perkins County Health Board supper, landscaped at the middle and elementary schools, served at a dinner theatre, helped readers at the elementary school and assisted at vacation bible school.
After graduation in May, Day plans to attend either the University of Nebraska-Kearney or Lincoln, and pursue a degree in accounting.
For being selected Senior of the Month, Day’s picture will hang in the lobby of Pinnacle Bank in Grant and she will be eligible for a scholarship awarded at the end of the school year.
The Student of the Month and scholarship program are sponsored by Pinnacle Bank of Grant and members of the community.
