|SUBWAY® closer to opening|
By Jan Rahn
A few more things need to happen before the new SUBWAY® restaurant opens for business in Grant, but progress is being made, said franchise owner Michael Jonasen.
“It’s taking a lot longer than ever anticipated,” he said.
Plans were being formulated last spring, and preparations got underway for construction late summer to transform 222 Central Avenue which previously served as the Perkins County Youth Center for five years.
Jonasen said electrical work was recently being done and that new equipment would start arriving soon. A manager will also need to be hired and trained.
Delays in getting the business open have mostly been due to red tape in meeting franchise standards, said Jonasen, also owner of McCook and Imperial SUBWAY® sandwich shops.
