Swedberg chosen for all-state choir PDF Print E-mail

Lane Swedberg, a senior at Wallace High School was chosen to sing bass in the 2010 Nebraska All State Choir. John Paul Lempke was selected as a first alternate for the tenor section.

Each year over 2,000 of the best high school musicians in the state audition for the Nebraska All-State Band, Chorus, Jazz Band and Orchestra which are sponsored by the Nebraska Music Educators Association. Selection as a member of one of these groups is one of the highest musical honors attainable in Nebraska.

Lane was among the 444 students selected to be in the All-State Chorus which was directed by Edith Coply of Nothern Arizpona University School of Music of Flagstaff, AZ. The choir rehearsed an amazing variety of music with Dr. Coply Thursday evening, all day Friday and Saturday morning.

Saturday afternoon they presented a concert in the Lied Center for the performing Arts on the University of Nebraska-Lincoln campus.
