Farm Bureau president responds to tax cut PDF Print E-mail

Nebraska Farm Bureau President Keith Olsen recently made a statement regarding tax changes agreed to by White House and Republican Congressional leaders on Dec. 6:

“Nebraska Farm Bureau is very pleased to learn that the White House and Congressional leaders have reached a tentative agreement on meaningful estate tax reform as well as continuing the 2001 and 2003 ‘Bush’ tax cuts,” said Olsen.

“We’re also extremely pleased to hear about the agreement on a $5 million estate tax exemption with a 35-percent tax rate. Farm Bureau spent the past year pushing estate tax reform and talking to our members of Congress about the need to provide meaningful estate tax relief for farmers, ranchers and small business owners.

“While these measures are only for two years, we hope Congress moves this compromise forward as soon as possible and we encourage our Nebraska Congressional delegation to support it.”
