Nebraska State Fair seeks memorabilia and artifacts.
The Nebraska State Fair is continuing the search for memorabilia and artifacts from past State Fairs to create a historical exhibition at the 2011 State Fair.
The exhibition will be housed in the foyer of the Livestock Arena at the Nebraska State Fairgrounds in Grand Island.
Jana Kruger, Nebraska State Fair board member says, “The State Fair has been a celebration of Nebraskans, both urban and rural since 1873.
“We’re asking people to look through their attics, junk drawers and out buildings to uncover treasures from state fairs past.”
Items may include photographs, ribbons, trophies, and carnival prizes. Carnival glass, Kewpie and Troll dolls, mini cameras, carnival games, dice, stuffed animals, figurines, posters and other items imprinted with Nebraska State Fair will be welcome.
Individuals wishing to donate Nebraska State Fair memorabilia and artifacts can do so by sending them to: Nebraska State Fair, Attn: Jessica Musil, 1043 South Locust, Grand Island, NE 68801. For information call 308-382-1620.
