Usher said, “While GI Family Radio Entertainment has successfully recruited countless concert entertainers to the Heartland Events Center, we felt a departure like this was an opportunity to affordably have many enjoy an event–and the first ever in Nebraska–with a glimpse of something you might otherwise pay top dollar to enjoy in Caesar Palace in Las Vegas or the Madison Square Garden in New York.

“Our family also thought it would showcase what events could be possible in Central and Western Nebraska and uniquely showcase the community of Grand Island and its state fair convention facilities.

“We also acknowledge the special cooperation of the Heartland Events Center, Fonner Park and its management and the Bosselman Family/ Danger Indoor Football to facilitate today’s announcement and coordinating this event. “We all hope this is an event that many can enjoy, not only the sport of horse racing but the sport of boxing and the WBC Lightweight Title Fight and a night full of boxing entertainment after attending the opening Saturday of live horse racing at Fonner Park.”
