By Katie Rowley
Perkins County FFA

The Perkins County and  Chase County FFA chapters put on a pink-out during the Chase County vs. Perkins County Boys and Girls varsity games on Jan. 13. Over 600 shirts were distributed by the two FFA Chapters.
Perkins  County FFA raised approximately $1500 for the Perkins County Health Services Foundation. Students in several classes at both schools were also made aware of the risks of cancer.
The success of the event has prompted both FFA Chapters to make this an annual event.
The chapter held its first Farmer’s Appreciation Dinner. The food was provided by the chapter members and there were 109 guests in attendance.
There was also a speaker at the dinner, Maile Ilac Boeser, executive director of The Leadership Center in Aurora, Neb.
We will be having our annual lasagna feed Tuesday evening Feb. 8  during the Creek Valley game.
The chapter will be traveling to Curtis on Feb. 9 for livestock judging. A portion of the CDE’s competition will be held then.
