Water and lotto figures released by city council

Figures for monthly water usage and lotto were announced for January at the regular meeting of Grant City Council Tuesday, Feb. 8.
Lotto sales in January were down considerably compared to the month of December. Sales were nearly $4,665 less during the first month of the year than they were during the last month of 2010.
• Lotto: During the month of January sales totalled just over $6,730.
Payout was nearly $4,545 leaving a net of just over $2,185. There still remained $4.75 in unclaimed prize money.
• Water: Water usage was up again in January, following a three-month trend.
In January there were 5,969,600 gallons of water used which is an increase over December’s usage by 335,400 gallons.
January usage is also an increase from January 2010 when 4,632,700 gallons were used.
